HEALTH OF GIRLS

DOES SPORT AFFECT IT? Fears that French girls, through their enthusiasm for sport are going too far in the emulation of their brothers, with consequent injury to their health, are being increasingly expressed by French medical authorities. As a result of exhaustive medical investigations, the committee of the Federation Feminine Sportive de Fiance has approved a report recommending that, in future, all applications from girls to join a sports association shall be accompanied by full physiological particulars given by a doctor. The committee also supported a recommendation that no girl shall be allowed to enter a sports competition without a medical certificate. Those recommendations have been described as bringing about a revolution in the world of feminine sport. They are to be presented to the full council of the federation at the end of this month.
