MONEY FROM HOME
ROADMAN’S GOOD FORTUNE WILL LIVE ON DIFFERENT SCALE. ’ Special ’’Chranicwr* rserviee i AUCKLAND. April 19. Some time ago a Whangarei lawyer read an advertisement in an Auckland paper in which an English firm of solicitors asked for information about a certain man. The lawyer recalled that a couple of years previously he gave a couple of days’ work to the. nian of the same name. He did not know where he ha.l gone afterwards, but during a motor tour of the Northland recently the lawyer and his wife recognised the man knapping stones on the road. Inquiry elicited the fact that the English advertisers were his family's solicitors in Manchester, which he had left forty years ago owing to a disagreement and had not communicated since. The lawyer was thereupon instructed to take up the matter on behalf of the roadman, who is a member of a wellknown English family, and as a result of the development he will be able to live on a vastly different scale to that of past years.
