Abraham and Williams Limited report: At Fcilding on Friday there was a large entry of sheep and an average yarding of cattle. The sheep comprised all classes including some special entries and the demand throughout was good and prices realised were if anything, better than late ruling rates. Cattle sold readily at late rates. CANTERBURY RAM FAIR. I Per Press Association, j CHRISTCHURCH, March 24. The annual stud ram fair conducted by the Canterbury A. & P. Association was held to-day. Flock sheep numbering 3490 head were sold yesterday and to-day’s offering of studs numbered 344. The sale was rather slow, but sound for good sheep, and only a small proportion was passed. A record Corriedale price was secured, a one-shear from Mr H. L. Little’s flock selling at 225 guineas. Other breeds sold at up to 80 guineas for English Leicesters, to 43 guineas for Romney Marsh, to 424 guineas for Southdowns, to 40 guineas for Border Leicesters, to 30 guineas for Merino, to 23 guineas for Lincolns, and to 184 guineas for Sliropshires. INVERCARGILL RAM FAIR [ Per Press Association. } INVERCARGILL, March 24. The annual ram fair was held to-day the yarding totalling about 900, about half being Romneys. There was keen bidding. Stud Romneys made up to 56 guineas. Mr Allen Galt, of Waimate, solfl seven, the top price being 45 guineas. Castlerock made up to 30 guineas and Lincoln were not in keen demand. Romneys realised up to 14 guineas and Shropshires eight guineas.
