Air Alan Bin ley leaves Wanganui this week for England and the Continent.
Air R. Forrester, of the Wanganui Post Office staff, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to the position of supervisor of the mails at Frankton Junction railway station.
Air C. Peebles, of Gisborne, has accepted. the position of costing officer of the Wellington City Corporation. Ho is at present chief clerk in the engineer’s department of the Gisborne Harbour Board.
The Hon. A. D. AfcLeod and the Hon. K. 8. Williams, Ministers of Lands and Public Works respectively, completed a tour of Raglan County on Saturday evening, and left yesterday fur A rapuni en route to attend the opening of the East Coast railway at Tauranga.
The death occurred on Saturday of Keith Winston Abbey, aged five years, son of the Bov. W.” H. E. Abbey, of the Methodist Parsonage, Aramoho. The child took ill on Monday and although he had been perfectly healthy, this being his first illness, he quickly succumbed. He was born in Canterbury and came to Aramoho when his father took up his duties there at the Alethodist Church, some three years ago.

The R'ev. 11. E. Jones, AI.A., Vicar of Bulls, yesterday morning, at the conclusion of his sermon, announco\ he had resigned the cure of the parochial district of Bulls and had accepted the vicariate of the parish of Frankton, which had been offered him by the Patronage P ;ard of the Diocese of Waikato, through the Lord Bishop of the Diocese. Iu his new parish Air Junes will have a population of over 8,000, as well as a large country district, but he will bo assisted by a curate and a number of efficient layreaders. Since coming to Bulls, three years ago, he has become widely known in the Wanganui and Palmerston districts, not only in connection with his clerical work, but also as a Alason and because of the interest he has shown in friendly societies. He is a keen sport an.d in the Feilding district has often been seen on the cricket field. Mrs Jones has done good work in connection with the Girl Guides. Air Jones and his wife and family will take up their new abode about the end of Alay.
