AORANGI AT AUCKLAND LEAK IN RUDDER TRUNK. [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, March 25. The liner Aorangi, which arrived at Auckland from Vancouver today, developed a leak in the rudder trunk after leaving Honolulu, and since then water has been leaking into the engine room. The Harbour Board ’s diver inspected the underwater part of the ship’s stern to-day, and arrangements have been made for the Aorangi to dock for repairs at Sydney. The repairs will necessitate the lifting out of the rudder, which weighs 41 tons.
