The meeting was most enthusiastic and there is every prospect of a successful season.

The work of bitumenising the BullsSandon road is being carried out, and motorists will not be compelled to take tho deviation much longer. aA. number of motorists who have ignored the barrier and passed over the roa*d are to be asked to explain their action before the Alagistrate at an early date. Rain is still badly wanted in this district and the prospect of feed for the winter is not promising. The supply tanks in the village are also showing signs of the scarcity of water. The Rev. W. S. Neal, who is shortly leaving to take up duty at Waiuku is to be entertained at a social by the residents at an early date.
