BANISHED FROM FLORIDA

“LOVE CULT” LEADER’S FATE NEW YORK, March 2. Swami Yoganada, an East Indian mystic protests against the police of Miami, Florida, where rich Americans are spending the winter, ordering him to leave that town on the ground that he is a “love cult leader.” Swami did not deny that he received fees from women for private instruction dealing with “emotional control,” among other subjects, but assorts that he is an Oriental philosopher of the highest standing everywhere. Chief Constable Quigg told Yoganada that two delegations of husbands and wives had protested against his activities, and that for his own safety he should go. Yoganada has many friends, and says that he will stay “to fight for human liberty.’’
