WOMEN’S DIVISION OF THE FARMERS’ UNION

IMPORTANT MEETING TO-MORROW

The Wanganui branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union some time back had enrolled the good number of 250 members, and at a meeting months ago it was decided to try and decentralise. The Okoia members took up the idea enthusiastically and soon had a good branch going, which has done nobly in sending money to the funds which pay the back-blocks nurse and housekeepers. But none of the other districts has yet followed this good lead, though not more scattered than the Okoia district. If Maxwell, Brunswick, Rapanui, 1 ordell and others would form branches or circles in their districts, and hold parties, making a small charge, or meet to sew, during the winter months, it would keep the members together socially as well as help to fill the chest which helps those further in the back country homes, who so often need house help badly. At the monthly meeting of the division to-morrow in Silk, Haworth’s rooms, it is hoped there will be n. large attendance of members to discuss this and many other matters of importance to the division.
