A PRESSING EVIL TIME FOR CONCERTED ACTION. (A. & N.Z.) LONDON, Feb. 29. The Queen, in a message to the Maternity Mortality Conference, says that she views with grave concern the continued high rate of maternal mortality, and feels that a real endeavour should be made to remove th’ls reproach from the national life. She considers that it is time for concerted action to meet the pressing evil and will await with interest the conference’s conclusion.
