LANGATAUA AXEMEN’S CARNIVAL [ Special “Chronicle” Service. ] Arrangements in connection with the eighteenth annual chopping and sawing carnival hold under the auspices of the Ragataua Axemen’s and Athletic Association. are well in hand. It promises to be bigger than over this Easter Monday ami a very large number of entries is expected. The Waimarino Brass Band will be present. DAYLIGHT SAVING As Far as Ohakune is concerned, there seems fo be no doubt that Summer Time Bill has been a great boon. B< >ides being able to have an hour more daylight after knocking off work, those who indulge in bowls or tennis have found it a great convenience and will bo sorry when it goes out of operation on Sunday. -Many people who before had no garden to speak of, have this season quite good ones, no doubt helped by that extra hour.
