WORKERS’ COMPENSATION

THE N.S.W. COMMISSION REPORT FOR THE FIRST YEAR (A. & N.Z.) SYDNEY, Dec. 1. The first annual report of the Workers’ Compensation Commission was tabled in the Assembly. It states that of 50,000 cases of injury notified by workers during the year ended June last, all except 1.37 per cent were settled by agreement, tfto balance being determined by th Commission at public hearings. The cost of the administration of the Act for the period; July to the end of December, 1926, was 1.3 per cent, of the premium income of the insurers. Wages lost annually by self-insurers totalled £27,000,000, and the amount of deposits required to be lodged was £303,000. ,
