AUSTRALIAN OIL
TESTS AT BOMA BORE. (A. & N.Z.) BRISBANE, Nov. 12. Reviewing the past operations at the Roma oil bore the Minister of Mines (Mr Jones) said that the tests carried out to date had produced 5500 gallons of fluid from which 525 gallons of very light high quality oil had been obtained. The prospects of obtaining oil in commercial quantities were very bright. REPORTED FIND IN WEST AUSTRALIA. (A. & N.Z.) PERTH, Nov. 14. A report that oil has been found on the Peel Estate has been received in Fremantle. A sample has been sent for analysis, but no result has yet been obtained. The settlers are optimistic and have already formed a company among themselves.
