The flames practically destroyed three rooms, and the other four rooms were badly damaged. The building was insured for £9OO and the furniture for £275. The building was insured for £lOOO and the furniture for £250, both in the South British Office. Practically nothing was saved. CHILD DIES FROM BURNS TAUMARUNUI, Nov. 14. A child named Bertha Ellen Harriet Bennett, aged three years and l eight months, died at the hospital yesterday as a result of burns received on Saturday. The child was left in the house at the parents’ home, Pungapunga, near Manunui, while the father went outside temporarily. A few minutes later another child ran out to the father saying his sister was on lira. •
