RIVER FATALITY
MAN DROWNED ARAPUNI WORKER LOST [ Per Press Association. ] HAMILTON, Nov. 14. Finding it necessary to secure a punt moored well out from the bank to proceed upstream, a member of a party of Arapuni employees this morning swam out to get it. In the meantime his companion, named Donald McNeill, a married man with two children, entered the water, also with the intention of swimming out to the boat, the first man being unaware of McNeil’s intentions. When he returned he found no sign of the other, whose clothes were on the bank. Apparently McNeil became exhausted and was drowned, but the body has not been recovered.
