A GREYMOUTH RAID ALLEGED KEEPING OF GAMING HOUSE (Per Press Association.) GREYMOUTH. Nov. 8. The police raided the billiard saloon of Arthur H. Clunn this afternoon, and also the residence of James Hassall, as a result of which both men mentioned were charged later before Justices with keeping a common gaming house. James Heffernan was charged with assisting, while 14 men found in the saloon were charged with being in a common gaming house. All the cases were remanded till Monday except those against four seamen whose vessels are timed to leave to-night. The Court decided to deal with the?.r cases, in which the police offered no evidence, and the informations were dismissed.
