- NET CLOSES IN Famous Italian Bandit Arrested In France EMPLOYED BIG GANG SPECIALIST IN JEWEL ROBBERIES (By Telegraph—Per Press Assn.—Copyright.) Received August 14, 7.20 p.m. (Sun Cable) LONDON, Aug. 13. The Paris correspondent of the Daily News reports that the notorious Italian bandit, Sante Pollastri, who for years evaded tho European police, was arrested after a desperate struggle, and Signor Mussolini has demanded his extradition. Assisted by a gang of criminals, to whom he paid high wages, Pollastri specialised in Franco- Italian jewellery robberies, in the course of which, it is alleged, ten murders were committed. He at first denied his identity, but confessed when he was confronted by members of his own gang, of whom 30 were recently arrested.
