DISABLED IN STORM

STEAMER WITHOUT WIRELESS UNDEE TOW FOB BRISBANE Received June 15, 8.30 p.m. (A. & N.Z.) SYDNEY, June 15. The steamer Proteus, bound from Sydney to New Caledonia, was disabled and rendered helpless in a storm 300 miles off the New South Wales eoast. She has been picked up by the steamer Cross Keys, which is towing her to Brisbane. The Proteus is not equipped with wireless, and. was unable to report the accident until the Cross Keys took her in tow.
