FRANCE’S DEBT
DESIRE FOR REVISION AMERICAN SECRETARY’S STATEMENT. (A. & N.Z.) WASHINGTON, June 9. The Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. A. W. Mellon, declined to discuss the French debt and M. Poincare’s statement, but stated that the United States Debt Commission was non-existent, and it was not clear how a revision would be possible. He believed that action by Congress would be necessary.
