WEDDING [ From the “ Chronicle’s ” Special Correspondent. ] A wedding of interest to many Marton and Raetihi people Was that of Miss Aldina Meyer, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Meyer, of Orautoha, to Mr Eric Tansey, second son of Mr and Mrs M. Tansey, of Ohakune. The ceremony took place at the bride’s parents’ residence, at Orautoha, on May 18. The Rev. Tetunga, or Halcombc, officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a very pretty frock of white georgette over pink, trimmed with silver lace, with the customary veil of silk net and orange blossoms, anil 1 carried a bouquet of cream chrysanthemums, freesias, and pink roses. The bridesmaids were Misses Winifred and Ruth Meyer, sisters of the bride, and Miss Beth Waldegrave, niece of the bridegroom. Miss Winifred Meyer, as chief bridesmaid, wore a pretty frock of pink georgette, and carried a bouquet of pink chrysanthe - mums. Miss Ruth Meyer wore a frock of blue taffeta, trimmed with silver ribbons, and carried* a bouquet of pink chryanthemums. Miss Beth - Waldegrave wore a frock of pink taf- i feta. Mr Ivor Tansey, brother of the | groom acted as best man. After the ceremony, the reception was held at the bride’s parents’ residence, a large marquee having been erected to accommodate the 100 guests who sat down to the wedding breakfast. After the reception, the happy i couple left by car for the north, where they intend spending their honeymoon. The bride's travelling dress was of cedar repp, trimmed with fur, and a fur coat. The young couple were the recipients of many handsome and useful presents.
