THIRTY-SEVEN
MAN WITH MANY PIPES. Putting a parcel on a counter of a London tobacconist’s shop, a man said he had brought his briar pipes for overhaul. The attendant found the parcel contained thirty-seven pipes, all of different pattern, and the customer claimed that they were all in use. No one.at the shop could remember anyone who had owned more than nineteen pipes, all in use, and it is believed there that thirty-seven is a record.
