IMPROVEMENT EFFECTED LARGE INCREASE IN TRADE “The increase of trade has been consistently growing in volume, and lias risen from 87,4000 tons in 1910 to 171,000 tons in .1926,’’ said Mr A. G. Bignell, chairman of the Wanganui Harbour Board at last evening’s meeting of that body. Proceeding, Mr Bignell said that no better proof was needed of the great improvement made in the port than tke fact that during the present week two overseas vessels nad entered the port at neap tides drawing 17ft. Gin. and 16ft. 6in. respectively. These boats had visited Wanganui for the purpose of discharging cargoes at the wharves of approximately 4300 tons.
