MINERS TRAPPED
ELEVEN DEAD RECOVERED WEST VIRGINIA MINE EXPLOSION (A. & N.Z.) NEW YORK, May 1. A mesSUge from Fairmont (West Virginia) states that 91 men were trapped by an explosion in a coal mine there last night. Several hours afterwards rescue workers removed the bodies of eight dead and three fatally wounded. Little hope is held out for the other 80.
