The Rt. Rev. Bishop Cherrington, of the diocese of Waikato, will attend the Church of England Men’s Society Conference in Wanganui commencing on May 10.

Mr E. J. McEldowney has resigned the secretaryship of the Wanganui Y.M.C.A. and Mr David Milligan has been appointed to the post. The new secretary will commence his duties early in July.

Mr. A. C. Trevethick died at the Wanganui Hospital yesterday. He was a returned soldier and had suffered a long illness, but was a football and cricket enthusiast, and when he was well enough used to act fcis scorer in representative cricket matches.

A London message states that Mr Lamont, Mayor of Devonport, New Zealand, has arrived at Plymouth. He will be entertained at a civic reception at Devonport. He was conducted over the warships Hood and Audacious at the Devonport dockyard by the naval commander.
