DANCING MARATHON
CHARLESTON MAD JAZZ BAND v. REVELLERS AMBULANCES COLLECT ALSO STARTEDS. [By Telegraph—Per Trees Assn.—Copyright.] Received March 10, 8.20 p.m. LONDON, March 10. The Paris correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” stated that delirium, recalling the dancing Dervishes, overtook tho company at a dancing hall at Nancy. The conductor of the jazz band challenged tho dancers to see whether they could out-dance the barb’s playing. They commenced a lively Charleston, and more and more dancers joined in, until even the spectators found the rhythm taking possession of them. Finally tho waiters and the manager joined in, and the whole assembly seemed seized with a frenzy of dance. Men and women fainted from exhaustion, and at the end of an hour, when the music stopped, four ambulances were necessary to convey the sufferers to hospital.
