FEILJMNG EWE FAIR Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report that at the Feilding Ewe Fair on Friday there was a yarding of 26,000 sheep, of which their entry comprised some 7,000. There was very good competition for the better class 4 and 5-year-old ewes and spirited competition for all young ewes, and the sale generally must be considered satislactory as practically a total clearance was effected. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follow:!, on the Feilding ewe i.air:—About 28,000 ewes were panned and the quality throughout was quite on a par with that'or previous lairs, although the usual percentage of
rough sorts was in evidence. There was a very large attendance of tile public from all parts of the country, and bidding right from, the start* was animated. Any good lines of 4 aud 5-ycar ewes were keenly competed for and realised better prices than they have been doing at late fairs. The demand for young sheep was also very keen. Altogether the fair must Duconsidered a success, and wo sold the whole of our entry under the hammer. The following are some of our principal .sales. —Five-year ewes: On account of G. TAIHAPE SALE
Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., (Palmerston North), report having held the fortnightly tale at Taihape on AVednesday, when a large yarding of sheep came forward. Prices were inclined to be in buyers’ favour, but there was a total clearance at prices satisfactory to vendors. Quotations: —Cull lam,bs 4s, small ewe lambs 8s sd, medium wether lambs 13s; two-tooth ewes 20s, 21s 6d, to 22s sd; four-tooth ewes 23s 6d to 24s 4d; m.a. ewes 14s. 14s 3d to 14s 6d; four and five year ewies 12s 9d, 13s 6d, 14s, 15s 4d, 16s 6d to 17s 6d.
