Mr N. Fulton returned to Wanganui yesterday from New Plymouth.
Mr H. Fry will leave Wanganui shortly for a trip to England.
Mr and Mrs J. Delves, who have spent some months in Sydney, leave on their return to Wanganui next week.
Lady Pearson, D.8.E., widow of the late Sir Arthur Pearson, arrived in Wanganui yesterday with the touring party from the Franconia. Mr. J. E. Holmes, Mayor of Whangarei, has declared his intention of again contesting the position. The deputy-Mayor, Mr. W. U. Timcwell, and Councillor L. J. Brake are already in the field.
Mr H. Williams, manager of His Majesty’s Theatre, leaves Wanganui to-day on a month’s vacation. Mr Wightman McCombs, of Auckland, will act in place of Mr Wiliams during his absence.
Mention was made at Saturday’s meeting of the Wanganui Swankers’ Club that Mr Daly Adams was progressing favourably after his illness. He hopes to be fully recovered within the next few months.
Messrs A. B. Hodgson (Palmerston North), D. Watters (Dunedin), C. Davidson (Wellington), H. Wishaw (Wellington), Misses Thomas (Wellington), W. H. Little (Wellington), and M. A. Knight (Levin) are staying at the Rutland Hotel.
