The Right Rev. Dr. Sprott, Bishop of Wellington, who has been staying in Wanganui, returns to Wellington tomorrow.
Mr R. Spears, the cyclist, accompanied by Mr J. Henderson, the Christchurch crtick, and Mr H. W. Nesbitt arrived in Wanganui on Saturday night.
Mr Walter Monk, representative for J. C. Williamson Ltd., accompanied by Mrs Monk, is in Wanganui, arranging for the visit of Maurice Moscovitch, the celebrated actor, who appears here next week.
Arrivals at the Rutland Hotel include Mr E. C. Charteris (Invercargill), Mr and Mrs and Miss Hassall, Dr. John Boyd and Mrs Boyd (Kiaponga), Messrs M. T. and A. R. Perry, Mr and Mrs Godby (Christchurch), Messrs W. W. Kaye, M. S. McCullough, E. M. Taylor, W. E. Andrews, H. W. Brown, Mr and Mrs J. D. Allen (Wellington), Mr C. A. Linwood (New Plymouth), Mr V. M. Dickenson (Dunedin), and Mr R. N. Carr (Auckland).
The funcn.l took place yesterday of Mrs Grace Willis, wife of Mr V. B. Willis, of Wanganui. The eldest daughter of Rev. M. Vosper, of Motucka, the deceased lady was well-known in Wanganui and Wellington, as well as in her home district. To those who knew her lovable disposition the news of her death, (after a brief illness, came as a tragic blow.* To Mr Willis and his family, a young son and daughter, deep sympathy will be tendered.

Mr L. E. H. Muller, the popular secretary <1 the local Freezing Workers’ Union, was the recipient of a “ surprise ’ ’ presentation the other day, when his fellow workers presented him with <a handsome gold watch, engraved in terms testifying to the services he had rendered in their interests. Mr Muller has resigned from the secretaryship of the union, and Mr J. Hutchison, national president of the Freezing Workers’ Federation, expressed appreciation of his work during the past five years. In handing the presentation watch to Mr Muller, Mr Hutchison said he had won the esteem of his fellows by the manner in which he had safeguarded their interests.
