RACES AT AUCKLAND COIEMAN MAKES PAST TIME [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Feb. 12. In beautiful weather and before a large attendance, the annual motor races of the Auckland Motor Racing Club were held this afternoon. Rc suits:— Open Handicap, five miles. —J. H. Ratcliff (2| Vilcette), 40sec. 1; P. Butler (2| A.J.S.), 50sec. 2; C. Crockroft (2f A.J.S.), 50sec. 3. Won by a length. Time: 4.29 2-5. Takapuna Handicap, seven miles.—B. Bray (4 h.p. Douglas), 35sec. 1; H. V. McCready (7 h.p. Harley-Davidson), 15sec. 2; W. Allen (31 Norton), 35sec. 3. Won by 300 yards. Time: 6.1 2-5. The fastest lap was made by Coleman, in 50 seconds. Sports Handicap (open), five miles.— W*. .Allen (34 Norton), 15see. ; W. Herbert (3j Indian), scr. 2; C. Goodwin (2J Harley-Davidson), 20s‘ec. 3. 'Herbert was roughly three hundred ya.rds in front of Goodwin at the finish. Time: 4.18.
