OIL PROSPECTORS

BORES NEAR GISBORNE PROPRIETARY STARTS WORK GEAR NOW BEING LANDED [Per Press Association] GISBORNE, Feb. 15. The oil proprietary which is about to bore for oil in this district has now definitely decided on the location, which will be on Mr Dodgshun’s station, a few miles from Ruatorea. The gear is now being landed on the site, but owing to the amount of work necessary prior to boring it is unlikely drilling will be commenced before the end of April. The geologists are now deciding on a second location, and it is probable that two wells will be sunk at the same time.
