Mr C. Higgins has returned to Wa nganui, after a fortnight’s holiday.
Mr H. J. A. Stuckey, senior school inspector at Wangtanui, has been transferred to Dunedin.
Mr H. H. Richardson, of the Victoria Avenue school, Wanganui, has been appointed an inspector of schools.
After twenty years’ service Miss M. M. Gordon, second assistant at the Victoria Avenue school, is retiring, and the committee has placed on record its appreciation of her services. Miss B. Gage has been appointed to succeed Miss Gordon.
The late Mr Thomas Meachen, who was killed in la motor car smash on Manukau Road, Epsom, Auckland, on Thursday evening last, was for many years an engine-driver in Wanganui. From Wanganui he was transferred to Tlaumarunui, where he was further promoted tn assistant locomotive foreman, Railways Department, Auckland.
