BENEATH BIG BEN

MOTHER OF PARLIAMENTS

OPENED BY HIS MAJESTY

APPEAL FOR UNITY

Owing to the Court being in mourning for Queen Alexandra the opening of the British Parliament at Westminster was a less brilliant ceremony than usual. The Speech from the Throne affords an interesting review of conditions in Great Britain and recent important events, and is noteworthy for its appeal to all those concerned in commerce and industry to work together In a spirit of conciliation and friendship in order that the promise of a trade revival may be fully realised. The Speech outlines a great deal of projected legislation.
