WORKERS’ WEEK
THE 44-HOUR AWARD UNION ASKS FOR VARIATION RAILWAY DEPARTMENT’S LABOURERS SYDNEY, February 3. Application has been made to the Industrial Arbitration Court on behalf of the Australian Workers’ Union for a variation of the award governing labourers in the Railway Department for a forty-hours’ week. The application was opposed on behalf of the Commissioners and the Master Contractors’ Association. Judge Beeby said that owing to the great pubb'c importance of the matter, it would have to stand over for the present.
