THE EXHIBITION

ITS EDUCATIONAL VALUE. LATEST ATTENDANCE FIGURES. [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Dec. 23. The. morning paper devoted a leader to-day to the wonderful attendance record of the first five weeks of the Exhibition. The official count gives the exact figures as 508,132. Referring to the amazing success in a wireless talk, Mr J. W. Collins, Government Commissioner, says: “To New Zealand citizens I extend on behalf of the Government a hearty invitation to visit the Exhibition. T earnestly ask parents, even if they have to sacrifice something to allow their children to come, especially those over fourteen years of age. The Exhibition must make a. lasting impression on them and would be of great possible educative value, containing as it does all the latest achievements in art, science, agriculture, commerce and industry, marvels of wireless and telegraphy, astronomy, transport by air, sea and land, and all these matters are so explained that even children may understand. Combined with these outstanding educational features there is an almost bewildering range of amuse ments for old and young alike, and nothing could be more inspiring than Io see fathers and mothers renewing their youth with their children at what (according to visitors competent to judge) is the best Exhibition ever held in the Southern Hemisphere.”
