National Fascisti early in the morning riskily climbed to the roof of the Battersea Town Hall and hoisted the Union .lack which th* Labourite Cow cil refused to fly since 191&. The Fascisti cut the lanyard, pre* venting tho removal of tho flag until the thirty foot flagstaff has been climbed nr dismantled. They pinned a note on the Town Hall door, stating that the, Fascist! were determined that the Union Jack should bo. supremo. They warn th< Council “not to fly the foul red flag Loyal citizens demand to live undei the British flag.”
