Miss Thomson suitably replied and cheers were given. The dispensing of afternoon tea brought an enjoyable gathering to a close. GENERAL NEWS. Mr J. Hunter has donated £2 2s to iflie Marton Fire Brigade in recognition of its good work at the outbreak of fires in his buildings at Marton Junction. Mr W. Price, Marton Auction Mart, reports having held a satisfactory sale on Saturday afternoon. Poultry realised up to 7s (id per pair, young cockerels from 4s per pair, turkeys, 15s, and geese 13s 6d to 14s Cd per pair.
