GRADING RETURNS FOR OCTOBER A DECREASE DISCLOSED | The adverse season experienced in ’ the district, and the consequent backward condition of stock, has resulted in the dairy produce grading returns for the port of Wanganui disclosing a decrease, when compared with the figures for the corresponding period of last year, both in regard to butter and cheese. Butter In October of 1924 22,659 boxes of butter were graded, as compared with 14,900 boxes last month, a decrease of 7759, or equal to 34.24 per cent. Cheese Last month 2758 crates of cheese were graded, as against 4228 erates in October 1924, a decrease of 1470 erates, or 34.76 per cent. Converting the quantities of butter and cheese into butter fat, the figures are as follows: October, 1924: 1,407,770 lbs of fat. October, 1925: 924,270 lbs of fat. Decrease: 483,500 lbs of fat or 34.34 per cent.
