MUNICIPAL PICTURES. # DOUBLE-FEATURE PROGRAMME. Another large house greeted the second screening of the double-feature programme at the Opera House. The star picture, “Sackcloth and Scarlet,” tells a gripping story. The picture depicts George Gibbs’ sensational story of two sisters—-one who played and the other who paid (on her sister’s account). Alice Terry, one of the screen’s most beautiful and talented lactresses is the star. Her work in various Rex. Ingram productions will be remembered, but this is her first appearance in a Pariamount picture. Supporting Alice Terry is a cast of players who give excellent portrayals. They include Dorothy Sebastian and Orville Caldwell. The production is by Henry King. The second feature is a Metro picture entitled “One Night in Rome,” a thrilling mystery romance of society The supporting players include Tom Moore, Laurette Taylor and Alan Hale. In addition there is a good supporting programme. To-morrow at the matinee 1 only will be screened a further instalment of the world-famed serial “Wolves of the North.” Special Holiday Programme. On Monday, at the matinee, and again at the evening session, will bo screened ono of the greatest screen attractions ever presented in Wanganui, viz., Snowy Baker and his wonderful horse, Boomerang, in Phil Goldstone’s special production, “His Last Race.” Words cannot describe it. Don’t miss it. The supporting cast includes Gladys Brockwell, Robert McKim, Pauline Starke, Noah Beery and Tully Marshall, fio wise and book your seat at Messrs H. I. Jones and Son’s till 12.30, thereafter at Opera House. Phono 2324.
