NATIONALIST PROSPECTS

MR FORBES OPTIMISTIC • (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 21. The Nationalist leader, Mr George Forbes, was in Christchurch to-day, Mr Forbes, stated that he would conclude his campaign for Hurunui on Saturday at Amberley. He intends to speak ut Riccarton on Monday night, and will then go south, speaking at Riverton and Gore. On his return north *he will speak at Ashburton. *‘The reports I am getting from the Dominion electorate,’’ said Air Forbes, “arc very encouraging in regard to the prospects of Nationalist candidates, particularly in the North Island. I am confident that there will be an addition to the numbers of the party as a result of the election. I regret that time is too short to enable me to visit the North Island. Air Veitch, however, will speak in the Taranaki, Egmont, Wairarapa and Hutt electorates.”
