INTERESTING WEDDING

MISS FEEGUSSON MARRIED. A UNIQUE EVENT. L-t [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 20. The wedding of Miss Helen Dorothea Fergusson, only daughter of their Excellencies, General Sir Charles and Lady Alice Eergusson, to Major Leonard Probyn Haviland A.D.C, Inditin Army, son of the late Rev. A. C. Haviland and Mrs. Haviland, St. Michael’s Manor, St. All an’s, England, took place at St. Paul’s Pro-CbXhedral this afternoon. There wits a very large gathering. The ceremony was performed by the Bishop of Wellington, assisted by Archdeacon. A. M. Johnson, Vicar of St. Paul’s, and Bev. E. K. Fry, Vicar of St. Mark’s. Tho bridesmaids were Miss Orr-Ewing, cousin of tho bride, and two smaller maids, Miss Elfie Beed, daughter of tho Hon. Vernon Reed M.L.C., and Mrs. Reed, and Miss Margaret Peters, daughter of Commander A. M. Peters (H.M.S. Dunedin) and Mrs. Peters. The best man was Mr. David J. Keswick, assistant private secretary to the Gover-nor-General. There was naturally groat - interest and excitement over the wedding, and what seemed like tho better phrt of Wellington assembled to see tho pretty froeking. It was the first wedding of the kind to take place in New Zealand, for all daughters of former Governors have been married at the other end of tho world. A largely attended reception was held at Government House.
