AN ANGRY MINER

WILD LANGUAGE USED ATTACK ON MR BOLLARD [Per Press Association.] HAMILTON, October 19. At Pukemiro, the Hon. R. F. Bollard was bitterly attacked by the local secretary of the Miners’ Union, who, after the candidate’s address, moved: “That we have no-confidence in the Tory Government and Air Bollard as member.” Warming up he asked “Who could vote for the Government? It is murdering thousands and millions of men, women and children. To hell with them. I would shoot them and him.” After some turmoil a motion of lack of confidence in the Government and the member was declared carried. Air. Bollard: I thank you for listening to the address. As for the motion passed, it is what I expected from such bitter opponents of the Government, which believes in free speech, liberty, law and order. (Applause). The meeting, with the exception of three or four women, was composed exclusively of miners.
