ALLEGED INCITEMENT TO STRIKE

SEAMEN AND FIREMEN’S OFFICIALS SUMMONED. CASES TO BE HEARD IN AUCKLAND. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 19. At the instance of the Labour Department, summonses have been served upon the Seamen’s and Firemen’s Union, C. B. Fittes (president) and W. T. Young (general secretary), (arising out of tho issue of a circular in regard to the working of valves and machinery on board ship. There are three alternative charges, namely, inciting to strike, inciting to a breach of tho seamen’s awtard, and taking proceedings to defeat the intention of the award. The summonses wore issued in Auckland and the cases will come up for hearing on Tuesday, October 27, at Auckland.
