LOOKING FOR PEACE WORK FOR STATESMEN Received October 19. 8.45 p.m. PARIS, Oct. 18. At a banquet at the conclusion of the Radical Congress at Nice, M. Painleve promised that he and M. Herriot would discuss the most efficacious means of dealing with the formidable difficulties confronting the country. He pointed to the Locarno Conference as evidence of a cartel policy of international peace, and added that all danger in Morocco was now past. France desired neither conquest nor ofjpressiou; she was only looking for peace.
