WELLINGTON CUSTOMS REVENUE

A RECORD DAY £35,575 COLLECTED [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 19. Customs revenue in Wellington today amounted to £35,575, the largest sum ever taken in one day, and believed to be also a record for the Dominion. There were 800 passes in the customs long-room, and as each entry means five sets of papers, officials had a very, busy time. The great rush of business is probably due to the strike hold-up and the arrival of ships during the week-end.
