FAREWELL AND WELCOME. (From the “Chronicle’s" Special Correspondent). On Thursday evening last a good number of the residents of the district assembled at the public hall to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. D. Henderson and family. At an interval during the .evening, the Rev. W. S. Neal, on behalf of their many friends, presented Mr. and Mrs. Henderson with with a Doulton china afternoon tea-set, and | expressed the good wishes of all. Mr. Henderson briefly returned thanks, and especially thanked Joyce Masters for presenting the beautiful bouquet to Mrs. Henderson earlier in the evening. During the evening opportunity was taken to express a welcome to Mr. Collier, who has purchased 2\lr. Henderson 's farm. Mr. Collier returned thanks. Musical items were contributed by the following ladies and gentlemen: Pianoforte duet, Mrs. A. Vile and Miss N. Fagan; song, Misses Drew, Jean Harris, Nancy Fagan; Messrs F. W. Tostevin, Bruce Henderson; cornet solo, Mr. Guy Nicol. Mrs. W. E. Pearce accompanied at the piano. All of the items were very much appreciated. A musical competition was won by Mr. D. Cameron, and for guessing titles of books, Mr. A. K. Drew was first and Miss Drew second. A dainty supper was provided for the ladies. At the close, Rev. Neal called for cheers for Mr. and Mrs. Henderson which were heartily given and he also proposed a vote of thanks to all who had assisted.
