In the House of Commons. Mr L. S. Amery said that 109,992 migrants had been assisted under the Empire Settlement Act to June 30, involving an expenditure of £892,000. The Times’ Cairo correspondent states that tho Egyptian Government has approved of the Suez Canal Company’s plans for the creation of a new town on the eastern bank of the Canal opposite Port Said, to be named Port Fuad. Replying to a deputation asking for the introduction of the Spahlinger treatment into New South Males, or, failing this, a practical investigation of the results of the treatment, the Minister of Health (Mr Cann) said that he was much in sympathy with the request. He would suggest to Cabinet that four'eonsumptives and a bacteriologist be sent to Geneva. The Australian loan subscriptions in London exceeded £10,000,000.
