SUPREME COURT SENTENCES.
NAPIER SITTINGS NAPIER, Feb. 25. Judge Alpers, in the Supreme Court, sentenced John Robertson, who had pleaded guilty to arson and manslaughter, to ton years’ reformative detention on each charge,, sentences to be concurrent. Accused is at present serving a sentence in the. Borstal Institute for arson and theft. Donald Stewart, another youth, for attempting murder by placing caustic soda in medicine, was sentenced to seven years’ detention and six months’ each for horse stealing (five charges), all sentences to be concurrent. George Clarence Wilson, for forgery and uttering, .12 months’ hard labour, and for false pretences (two charges) six months on each charge. AUCKLAND SITTINGS AUCKLAND, Feb. 25. In the Supreme Court, John Lawrence Cosgravc, on four charges of mischief (maiming animals) was sentenced to five years’ reformative. Henry Tekana, a Maori youth, for theft at Dargaviile, two years in the Borstal Institute.
