WAVERLEY NOTES.
SWIMMING (From Our Own Correspondent) On Tuesday evening last a very interesting programme was got through —the events being the boys’ 25 yards’ handicap; men’s 50 yards handicap, and ladies’ 5U yards handicap. At the conclusion of this programme a mixed diving competition was held. The weather conditions were none too favourable but despite this a large number of enthusiasts assembled to enjoy the evening’s entertainment. Tho swimmers showed improved form on the previous week’s, performances and competitors tackled their work in true sporting spirit. Results:— Boys’ 25 yards.—Final: Rankin (scr.) 1, Purves and Howie, dead heat. 50 yards handicap.—Final: Rankin (4sces) 1, R. Bates (scr.) 2. Ladies’ 50 yards handicap.—Final: .Miss Alitcalfo (scr.) 1, Alias Palmer (ssecs) 2. Diving (mixed). —Aliss Palmer J, Jack Hair 2.
