ALLIANCE OF LABOUR
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 8. It is stated that since the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants severed affiliation With the Alliance of Labour other Labour organisations have been considering the advisable ness of taking a ballot on the question. It Was recently announced that tha Freezing Workers and Allied Trades Federation had resolved to seetife an expression of opinion of members on such a breakaway from the Alliance, but the result of the ballot has not been declared. It is also stated authoritatively that the New Zealand Amalgamated Society of Engineers and Metal Workers has issued ballot papers on the question of severance from the Alliance. If the two organisations named decide on severance the Federation will comprise eight organisations namely, the Senmens’, Watetsiders,’ Miners’, Drivers’ Tramwaymen’s, Storemen and Packets’, Workers’ Union and Timber Workers’.
