SUICIDE AT WESTMERE

FOUND WITH THROAT CUT. A man named Gordon Stuart, about whom little is known locally, and who had worked for Mr. Chadley, farmer, of Westmere, since June 5 last, attempted to take his own life yesterday morning by cutting his throat with a razor. He was discovered shortly afterwards, and was promptly attend cd by Dr. Hutson, who ordered his removal to tho Wanganui Hospital, where he succumbed to his wound at 2.15 o’clock. So far as can be ascertained, the de ceased, was between 35 and 40 yeari of age, and was a returned soldier It is believed that his parents resid in Tasmania. An inquest will be held.
