CONTRITE FIGHTING MAN. “This is the fighting man who re» cently objected to being stopped,” said the City Traffic Inspector, Mr G. Fear, when a well-known local boxer was charged at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Mr J. S. Barton S M., with riding a bicycle without a li.ght. “Well, he is very contrite now," said the Magistrate, “and in a letter he has sent In he says that his financial position is bad.” “He has probably lost too much at boxing,” said a constable, who added that the defendant had been out of work for a fortnight, but now had a job to go to.
His Worship: “Fined £1 and 7s costs.”
